Very few insurance providers can boast a cult following, but the catchy jingle of the Sheila’s Wheels commercials has led to a large following for the firm. The company is actually a brand of esure, one of the UK’s largest insurers, and in 2008 it extended its products to include home insurance (also known as ‘house insurance’ or ‘household insurance’).
Sheila’s Wheels home insurance is aimed at the female market, just as its car insurance is. Among its special incentives for females are unlimited cover for shoes, make-up and clothing in the home. Its range of benefits has earned recognition from product research company Defaqto which awarded it with a five-star rating.
The features of its buildings and contents insurance includes £2,500 for the contents of your garden, £750 for credit card and personal money loss, £1,000 of cover for replacement locks if keys are stolen and £5million for owner’s liability. You will also get free family legal protection up to £50,000 for the first year as long as you buy online.
There are a number of optional extras available with Sheila’s Wheels home insurance too. These include home emergency cover up to £500 and pest cover up to £150 for those unwelcome infestations of rats, mice, wasps or hornets.
