Terms and conditions

1. The Super Save Promise (“Offer”) is promoted by MoneySuperMarket.com Limited (the "Promoter", "we" or "us"), whose registered office is at MoneySuperMarket House, St. David's Park, Ewloe, Chester, CH5 3UZ and governed by these terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions").

2. Eligibility

If you purchase a car insurance or home insurance policy through MoneySuperMarket.com and then find a cheaper like for like quote, you can submit a claim to be refunded the price difference (the “Refund”) and receive a choice of a £20 gift card under the Offer. To be eligible, you must comply with these Terms and Conditions and meet all the following criteria (the "Eligibility Criteria"):

(i) you must be a UK resident aged 17 or over;

(ii) you must have purchased car or home insurance online on MoneySuperMarket.com. This means, that purchases through channels apart from MoneySuperMarket.com (for example, through insurers direct) or through our call centre, are not eligible for this Offer;

(iii) you must have made the purchase through a MoneySuperMarket account (“Account”) between 00:00 on 24 October 2022 and 23:59 on 24 January 2023 (the “Offer Period”). Purchases made before or after these dates cannot be accepted;

(iv) you must have purchased the policy (the “Purchased Policy”);

(v) you must not have cancelled the Purchased Policy within 14 days of purchase;

(vi) the cheaper quote must:

  • be like for like against the Purchased Policy with you inputting the same information to generate the cheaper quote that you used for the Purchased Policy;

  • be from by the same policy provider as the policy provider of the Purchased Policy;

  • have the same policy product features as the Purchased Policy;

  • be offered to the same name and address;

  • have been generated by you on the same day (GMT) as the purchase of the Purchased Policy;

  • offer a saving of at least 1 pence;

  • be offered through a UK price comparison website or car or home insurance provider direct (“Third Party Policy Providers”);

  • not be made in conjunction with any other offer from the Third Party Policy Providers,

together, the “Cheaper Quote”;

(vii) you must not use any cashback site, such as Quidco as part of the Purchased Policy;

(viii) you must not make a claim for van, temporary car, landlord or rental insurance which are excluded from the Offer;

(ix) you must provide proof of the Purchased Policy and the Cheaper Quote (screen shots of the Cheaper Quote with the date, required product features as listed in the claim form (see section 3 below) and price, together with any Cheaper Quote email you received if you cannot date your screen shots);

(x) you must not have claimed on the Offer or received any other voucher or other promotional benefit from us, in respect of the same insurance product more than once in any 12 month period;

(xi) only 1 person per Purchased Policy is eligible for the Offer; and

(xii) you must follow the claim procedure set out in paragraph 4 ‘How it works’.

3. The Refund and Reward

(i) The Refund is based on the difference between the Cheaper Quote and the annual premium of the Purchased Policy before any interest payable on premium finance is applied.

(ii) The reward is a choice of a £20 gift card from UK leading vendors including Sainsbury’s, Just Eat, Argos and Amazon.co.uk (the “Reward”).

(iii) To receive the Refund and Reward you must complete and submit a claim form.

(iv) Once the Eligibility Criteria has been verified you will be eligible to receive a Refund of up to £100 and the Reward.

4. How it works

(i) The claim form must be submitted within 30 days of purchasing the Purchased Policy. We will not accept a claim for the Offer without you completing the claim form with all of the required information.

(ii) By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you confirm that the information you provided in the Purchased Policy and Cheaper Quote is true and accurate.

(iii) We reserve the right to ask for additional information to verify eligibility.

(iv) We will email you within 2 days of submission to let you know that we’ve received your claim form.

(v) We will decide within 15 working days if you’ve satisfied the Eligibility Criteria.

(vi) If we determine that you do not meet the Eligibility Criteria, we will email you to let you know.

(vii) If we determine that you are eligible to receive the Refund and Reward, we will email you with a link to send securely the bank details for the account you’d like the Refund to be paid into. This link is managed by SendSafely. Please read their terms and conditions and privacy policy to understand how your details are securely shared with us and how they use your data. You must use SendSafely to receive the Refund. Once we have received the bank details via SendSafely we will process your Refund within 10 working days.

(viii) If we do not hear from you within 30 days of requesting your bank details, you will forfeit your Refund and Reward.

(ix) When we have received your bank details we will begin the Reward claim procedure, which is managed by GiftCloud on our behalf.

(x) To enable you to claim the Reward we will need to share your data with GiftCloud. Your data will only be shared with GiftCloud if you have met the Eligibility Criteria and provided your bank details to receive the Refund. GiftCloud’s use of your data will be governed by their applicable privacy policy. Their privacy policy is different from our Privacy Policy. It is your responsibility to ensure that you understand and agree with the privacy policy of GiftCloud. We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur in connection with the privacy policy applying to any third party website or for any acts, omissions, errors or defaults of any third party in connection with that privacy policy.

(xi) If you are eligible to claim Reward, within 10 working days of providing us your bank details via SendSafely, you will receive an email from GiftCloud enabling you to claim the Reward via clicking on a link. The email will be sent to the email address you provided us in the claim form. The email will contain details of your Reward.

(xii) You will have up to 90 days from GiftCloud’s email to claim your Reward. You will forfeit your Reward if you do not claim your Reward within that time. Please ensure that the email address no-reply@giftcloud.com is added to your safe-senders list, in order to prevent any likelihood of the emails landing in the spam folder.

(xiii) The Reward is subject to the Reward issuer’s (i.e.Sainsbury’s, Just Eat, Argos and Amazon.co.uk) own terms and conditions  (which are different from ours). It is very important that you read and understand these terms and conditions  before you claim your Reward. They will be made available to you at the point when you can claim your Reward.

(xiv) If either the Refund or Reward are not received then you should contact rewards@moneysupermarket.com, who are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

(xv) The Refund and Reward are non-transferable, non-negotiable and cannot be substituted for any other prize or other cash value. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with either the Refund or Reward and not specifically included in the Refund and Reward.

(xvi) A maximum of one Refund and one Reward is available per Purchased Policy. We reserve the right to withhold a Refund and/or Reward if, in our fair judgement, it appears that a person claiming it does not meet any of the Eligibility Criteria, or it appears that one individually named person is claiming (or has claimed) more than one Refund and Reward in respect of more than one car insurance or one home insurance policy purchase during the Offer Period.

5. By taking part in the Offer, you agree:

(i) to these Terms and Conditions;

(ii) to the terms of the Promoter's Privacy Policy;

(iii) that by submitting your claim you consent to us using the email address you used for the Purchased Policy to contact you in relation to your Offer claim; and

(iv) that, as between you and the Promoter, all intellectual property rights in any documents, images, photos, or pictures submitted to take part in the Offer will become the property of the Promoter and can be used by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

6. Data and Privacy

(i) By participating in the Offer, you agree to the use of your personal data as described in these Terms and Conditions, and in particular in this paragraph 6.

(iii) We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur in connection with the privacy policy applying to any third party website or for any acts, omissions, errors or defaults of any third party in connection with that privacy policy.

7. General

(i) We reserve the right to withhold payment of the Refund and/or withdraw the Reward if, in our sole discretion, it appears that a person claiming it does not fully meet the Eligibility Criteria, if a policy is cancelled within the ‘cooling off period’ (as defined in the Purchased Policy) or we deem the policy to have been purchased fraudulently, invalidly or using automated means. We reserve the right to require reasonable proof of identity and eligibility from any person claiming a Reward.

(ii) Our decision regarding any aspect of the Offer is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

(iii) Any additional costs which may be incurred by this Offer in the context of participation, such as internet costs and other additional services are not included in the Offer and must be paid by you separately.

(iv) No cash or other alternative reward will be provided in whole or in part for the Reward, except that in the event of circumstances outside of our control we reserve the right to substitute similar rewards of equal value. The Reward is subject to promotional availability, is not for re-sale, cannot be auctioned or exchanged and is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

(v) To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept any responsibility or liability under or in connection with the Offer and/or these Terms and Conditions (including without limitation) as a result of technical fault, computer or electronic malfunction, or incomplete, illegible, late, lost or fraudulent entries). Any statutory rights you have are not affected.

(vi) Insofar as permitted by law, we will not be responsible or liable to compensate you, or accept any liability, for any personal loss, expense or damage in connection with the Offer or accepting or using the Reward except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

(vii) We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to cancel and/or modify these Terms and Conditions, at any time before you have accepted it/them, including but not limited to terminating or withdrawing the Offer at any time.

(viii) If any paragraph in these Terms and Conditions is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the other paragraphs of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.

(ix) These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
