The RAC may be more renowned for its breakdown service, but it has established itself as one of the UK’s leading car insurance companies. Its ambition is to use its years of motoring expertise to offer you the best car insurance cover (also known as ‘RAC motor insurance cover’) available at the lowest price.
The company offers both third party fire and theft and comprehensive standard plans. In an attempt to earn you lower premiums, the RAC car insurance website will ask eight additional driving habits questions which could help you earn savings up to 17 per cent.
One of the key features of the RAC comprehensive car insurance policy is that if you are taken seriously ill and cannot finish your car journey, the RAC will transport your vehicle home or to another address in the UK. There is also a rapid bonus scheme aimed at allowing young drivers to build up their no-claims discount quickly by receiving a full year’s no-claims in just nine months. Young drivers can also benefit from a further discount if they obtain their Pass Plus certificate.
Furthermore, there are additional options available for classic cars and, if you prefer, you can opt for ‘pay by day’ insurance. However, with a standard RAC comprehensive car insurance policy there is a 24hr claims hotline and you can gain up to 70 per cent no-claims discount. If you are willing to pay a little extra, there are additional options available including legal services, a courtesy car, physiotherapy and European breakdown cover.
