Norwich Union is part of the Aviva group, the sixth-largest insurance group in the world and the biggest insurer in the UK. The Aviva group has 60,000 employees serving 30 million customers worldwide. Norwich Union is established as one of the leading UK car insurance companies offering comprehensive and third party fire and theft (also known as ‘Norwich Union motor insurance’) policies and a revolutionary ‘pay as you drive’ scheme.
The pay as you drive scheme works using a global positioning system (GPS) to calculate monthly insurance premiums based on how often, when and where you drive. This means that you have more control over the premiums you pay and comes with a host of features including an in-car assistance button in case you break down and free trials of satellite navigation and speed camera detection devices.
If you choose a regular Norwich Union car insurance policy you can save 10 per cent by buying online. Comprehensive cover incorporates new car replacement if your car is less than 12 months old and the damage covered is more than 60 per cent of the UK list price. There are also £100 medical expenses and £150 personal belongings cover incorporated.
It is possible to secure a no-claims discount with Norwich Union car insurance, based on the number of years you have gone without making a claim. The company also runs a rapid bonus for young drivers, allowing anyone aged 17-29 to earn the equivalent of one year’s no-claims discount in just nine months.
