Bell, previously known as Bell Direct, is a UK car insurance company and part of the Admiral Group. It specialises in providing cheaper car insurance (also known as ‘Bell motor insurance’) for drivers with low or zero no-claims bonus. Bell’s standpoint is that many good drivers are often short of no-claims bonus through no fault of their own and the company wants to offer them cheaper car insurance as a result.
Broadly, there are two types of policy available with Bell car insurance. These are Bell comprehensive cover and ‘FlexiBell’, which entitles the policyholder to pick and choose the optional cover aspects that are right for them.
For example on a traditional Bell policy aspects such as legal expenses cover, windscreen cover, a courtesy car and European cover all come as standard. However, if you prefer the FlexiBell option, you can determine which of these cover aspects you want and you can discard those that you do not feel are necessary.
Bell car insurance also includes a ‘bonus accelerator’ policy. This allows the driver to earn a full year’s no-claims bonus after just 10 months. This even applies if you choose to leave the company at the end of the 10month period. There are many other additional options available including a protected no-claims discount, a choice of payment methods and a choice of excess sums.
