The tradition of Secret Santa has been around for a while, but in recent years it has become very popular,
especially in the workplace. According to our research, 30% of employees will be taking part in a Secret Santa
with their colleagues and the average expected spend is just £7.98!
We've given our bloggers a little more than that, but they've still got to think outside the box to get the most
for their money. This challenge will highlight the fact that buying gifts this Christmas needn't mean you need to raid
your savings or max out the credit card.
So what is the Secret Santa Challenge?
Our bloggers have been randomly paired up with a Secret Santa partner and have been tasked with selecting a
present for them. They have been given a £25 budget and are under strict orders not to exceed this. The present
can be something that represents them and their personality or it could be something that they feel their secret
Santa partner would love.
And the winners are...
We had an absolutely fantastic response to the Secret Santa event and we would like thank each and every blogger involved with it. We're really pleased with how our bloggers have embraced the challenge and it seems like most have had great fun doing it. From mugs to make-up, jewellery to cupcakes, Darth Vader to Dr Who; the participants of Secret Santa have been extremely creative. So without further ado, our prize winners are...
It was a very tight decision but the winner of the iPad Mini is Dawn from Inanity and the Girl! Dawn sent her partner a tea party set, complete with individually wrapped ingredients and a recipe (for the cupcakes). There was also a matching tea cup included to top it all off. The Alice in Wonderland style of the present was very impressive and it's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into this. Congratulations Dawn!
The 3 runners up who will receive £50 High Street Vouchers each are Daz from GTOnline, Helen from Helen Hearts & Jess from Look What I Got! These were all fantastic examples of creativity and originality, and we loved them almost as much as the bloggers they were sent to.
So that's it for Secret Santa 2012. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all the participants. We look forward to seeing what the UK's best bloggers will come up with for Secret Santa 2013!
