Sainsbury’s Bank was launched as an addition to the established Sainsbury’s supermarket brand, which is now adding its traditional convenience to other sectors and establishing itself as one of the leading UK car insurance providers.

Sainsbury’s aims to offer competitive car insurance (also known as ‘Sainsbury’s Bank motor insurance’) prices combined with the right benefits for you. Statistics on the Sainsbury’s Bank car insurance website suggest that drivers could save as much as 93 per cent by moving to one of its policies on a like-for-like deal. However, Sainsbury’s is keen to point out that cheaper car insurance is only part of the story.

Among the standard benefits available from its comprehensive cover are a free courtesy car and uninsured driver protection meaning that if you in an accident with an uninsured driver and it’s not your fault you will still keep your no-claims discount. There is also up to £1,000 compensation and counselling available to victims of car-jacking or road rage and £200 cover for your shopping if there is any damage to your groceries bought from a Sainsbury’s store.

The optional extras available with Sainsbury’s Bank car insurance are breakdown assistance, provided by Green Flag, and motor legal protection. The Green Flag breakdown cover offers peace of mind with roadside assistance, home rescue and recovery.
