The AA breakdown service is often referred to as the ‘fourth emergency service’. However, as a car insurance broker, helping its users find the cheapest car insurance (also known as ‘AA motor insurance’) quotes, the AA has established itself as a major player among UK car insurance companies.

With specialist quotes available for classic car insurance and motorcycle insurance, the AA will search a panel of more than 20 leading insurers to find the best available car insurance quote for you. According to a survey in March 2007, 10 per cent of people could save 35 per cent by moving to the AA for their car insurance.

Among the reasons to choose the AA include up to 65 per cent no-claims discount, a dedicated 24hr claim line, a claims assistance service to help recover uninsured losses, and a courtesy car while yours is repaired. There are also a number of discounts available – you can save up to 12.5 per cent by buying your AA car insurance online and receive 25 per cent off AA breakdown cover when you purchase it alongside an AA car insurance policy.

The AA also offers short-term car insurance. This is ideal if you need to borrow a vehicle or add on a temporary driver. It is available for any insurance period lasting from one to 28 days, and is valid for drivers who are over 24-years-old or 23 as a secondary driver.
