Part of the Zurich Financial Services Group, Zurich is an insurance-based provider with a network of subsidiaries across Europe, North America and beyond. Founded in 1872 in the city it shares its name with, Zurich in Switzerland, it now employs approximately 60,000 people and has a range of products including Zurich life insurance (also known as ‘Zurich life assurance’ and ‘Zurich term assurance’).

There are a number of plans available from Zurich to protect families in a range of circumstances. Its life insurance for example, will pay out a lump sum on death to ensure your family does not suffer financial hardship. If you are diagnosed with a terminal illness with less than 12 months to live then a Zurich life insurance policy will pay out early to give you the opportunity to sort out your finances.

In addition, Zurich offers mortgage protection in which it pays out if you die during the term of the plan, become critically ill or have a specific operation. The cover decreases each month and is based alongside your repayment mortgage so that it reaches zero at the end of the term.

You can also take out critical illness cover with Zurich against a specified list of critical illnesses and there are a number of added features available including a waiver of payment benefit and total permanent disability from performing your own occupation benefit.
