Updated: Every six months. Details correct at the time of publication - October, 2008.
AXA Sun Life has an established history in life insurance (also known as ‘AXA Sun Life term assurance’ and ‘AXA Sun Life life assurance’) having offered the product since 1977. It now specialises in the over 50s market but still offers a regular life cover product too.
The general life insurance product is known as AXA Sun Life EasyCover. This allows you to leave a fixed cash sum for your loved ones in case the worst happens or you are diagnosed with a terminal illness. Terms can run from 10-25 years and it is possible to gain up to £150,000 in cover. Life cover is available from as little as £8 a month.
Also available is the AXA Sun Life guaranteed over 50 plan, which guarantees acceptance but will not pay out during the first two years. The only pay out if you die during the first two years is an amount equal to one and a half times the premiums paid - after this point your personal quotation is payable. You would also receive three times your fixed cash sum if you died in a specified travel accident.
In addition, AXA Sun Life offers the 50 plus protector plan with increasing monthly premiums each year coinciding with an increasing cash sum. With this policy you pay every month up to the age of 90 and premiums range from £7 to £74 a month depending on your circumstances.
