Standard Life is part of the Standard Life Group and offers a comprehensive range of protection for life insurance, which some people call ‘term assurance’ or ‘life assurance’, designed to protect you and your family. The company markets this product as ‘Simply Life’ and it is provided by AEGON Scottish Equitable.

According to the Standard Life website cover begins for as little as £4.95/month and there are broadly two options to choose from – level life insurance and reducing life insurance. With level life insurance the amount insured remains the same throughout the policy term. With reducing life insurance the amount decreases over the term and is usually taken out to protect a repayment mortgage.

Terminal illness benefit is automatically included at no extra cost with a Simply Life policy and your premiums are guaranteed meaning that the amount you pay will remain the same throughout the benefit term.
