All three iPhones in the range have an all-screen design save for a notch at the top containing the camera – however the iPhone 11 has an aluminium frame while the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are made from stainless steel. The phone is available in the following colours:
As part of the new design, the rear cameras – there are only two for the iPhone 11, while the others have three – are now arranged in a square block in the upper-left corner on the phone’s glass back.
The iPhone 11’s LCD screen measures at 6.1 inches, sporting a resolution of 828 x 1,792. Its contrast ratio is 1,400:1, with a maximum brightness of 625 nits. Apple says the screen is made from “the toughest glass in a smartphone”.
The entire handset weighs 194g, with dimensions of 150.9mm x 75.7mm x 8.3mm.
Unlike the Pro and Pro Max, the iPhone 11 only has two cameras on the rear, though they’re both 12MP – one lens at f/1.8 and the other an ultrawide at f/2.4. All three handsets are equipped with night mode as well as 4k video recording at 60 frames per second.
The front camera is also 12MP, twinned with an improved Face ID – Apple’s own facial recognition system.
The iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max all use Apple’s next-gen A13 Bionic chipset, which it claims has the fastest CPU and GPU of any smartphone – ever.
They’ll all have the new iOS 13 operating system, while the iPhone 11’s storage options are:
- 64GB (4GB RAM)
- 128GB (4GB RAM)
- 256GB (4GB RAM)
Apple also claims the iPhone 11’s 3110 mAh battery can last up to an hour longer than the iPhone XR.
