Tesco Bank’s car insurance is rated five stars by the agency Defaqto, the highest score possible.
It provides car insurance to drivers aged 21 and over, as well as ‘black box’ telematics polices for younger drivers. It is part of the Tesco Group, which also offers banking and insurance products, alongside its supermarkets and superstores.

Tesco Bank offers three levels of car insurance cover, fully comprehensive, third party, fire and theft, and third-party only. There are a range of extras you can pay for, including breakdown cover from the RAC:
Any discount you’ve built up will be protected
You’ll be covered for up to 90 days when driving in the EU
You can call its UK-based helpline at any time, day or night
If you can’t drive your car, you’ll be given a courtesy car
Tesco Clubcard holders will receive a discount of at least 10%.

To cancel your Tesco Bank car insurance policy, you will need to contact its customer service team on 0345 246 2895 or by writing to it at Freepost RSJB-RZZY-HTJB, Tesco Bank Customer Service, P.O. Box 276, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE12 2BT.
There is a £40 for cancelling if it’s after the first 14 days of your policy.
Tesco Bank Car Insurance is arranged and administered by Tesco Bank and underwritten by Tesco Underwriting Ltd.
Telematics policies, which use satellite tracking to reward safe drivers, are arranged and administered by Insure The Box Limited and underwritten by Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company.
