What does it cover?

Post Office off three levels of cover. Your insurance coverage will depend what level of cover you select:

  1. Economy: A basic policy with lower cover limits and a higher excess that is the cheapest option. It covers all of the essentials without extras.

  2. Standard: A standard policy offering middle-of-the-road cover. It offers higher cover than Economy cover with a slightly lower excess.

  3. Premier: This is the most comprehensive option and the most expensive. It offers extensive travel insurance coverage with a few extras included as standard.

What isn’t covered?

As with most travel insurance policies, you won't be covered for any claims made following the result of drinking excessive amounts, taking illegal drugs, causing fights, or breaking any laws in whatever country you're in.

Does Post Office travel insurance cover cancelled flights?

This depends on what level of cover you have purchased. Trip disruption cover will offer extra protection in situations where your flight has been cancelled.

In general, if the airline has cancelled your flight, it is their responsibility to refund the cost of your flight or arrange a replacement flight.

If a flight delay or cancellation forces you to stay at the airport overnight, then the airline should book and cover the cost of your accommodation and any transport to and from it.
