Google Assistant

The Assistant is especially great because it’s so conversational: it understands when two questions are linked and will provide you with answers accordingly. (For example, if you ask it ‘what’s the weather like in London?’ before asking ‘how about Edinburgh?’, it’ll understand you’re still talking about the weather.

Camera And Video

The Google Pixel’s 12.3MP camera achieved the highest ever score on DXOMark when it was released (it has since been overtaken by the HTC U11), and captures incredible photos even in low light.

The six-element lens system captures photos in HDR+ mode (which basically means that the quality is very, very good) and its shutter speed is amazingly fast. All this results in some of the best photos you’ll ever take on a smartphone, and the camera can also record video in 4K quality and slow-motion videos in HD - so get snapping!

It Was All A Daydream

With their cardboard headset, Google were an early adopter of Virtual Reality, the tech on everyone’s lips at the moment. Now, the Pixel features its own VR platform, known as Google Daydream.
