What can I get from Vodafone TV?

Vodafone doesn’t offer a comprehensive TV bundle. Instead, you’ll get an Apple TV box with three months' free Apple TV+ if you take out one of its Xtra Broadband packages.

Both Xtra packages come with a three month trial of Apple TV+, so you’ll get to watch Apple Original TV shows and movies like The Morning Show and Greyhound.

Moreover, you’ll be able to get access to streaming services such as BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub. And you can watch Netflix and Amazon via your set top box if you’re already subscribed to those services.

There are two Vodafone Xtra packages to choose from. Vodafone Pro II Xtra gives you faster broadband thanks to the Super WiFi 6E Booster, plus 4G Broadband Backup for those times when your internet go down. The cheaper Vodafone Xtra option brings the Wi-Fi Hub, which auto-optimises for the fastest, most reliable connection across devices.

If you want to add TV to your Vodafone broadband plan, you can do so with our tool at the top of the page. Simply select the broadband deal you want, then you'll be taken to Vodafone's website where you can add TV.

What are the pros and cons of Vodafone TV?

Not sure if Vodafone is right for you? Here’s a snapshot of the pros and cons to help you make a more informed decision.

  • Pros

    • Discounts for mobile customers

    • No upfront costs

    • Competitively priced – add it to your Vodafone broadband for a decent monthly price

    • Access to Apple TV 4K

  • Cons

    • Other providers, such as Virgin Media, offer quicker broadband

    • 24-month contract means you’ll be with them for a long time

    • Better TV options elsewhere

    • Apple TV+ is only free for three months – after that, it’s £6.99 a month

What channels can I get with Vodafone TV?

We have to say, compare to the likes of Sky and Virgin Media, who offer hundreds and channels, choice from Apple TV is limited.

That said, you will get access to BBC iPlayer, ITV HUB, All 4 and other free on demand services. Moreover, Netflix, Amazon Prime, NOW TV and Disney + subscribers will also be able to watch shows on these platforms via the Apple TV box.

Lastly, the Apple TV app means you can watch TV when you’re out and about.

Can you record with Vodafone TV?

You can’t, whereas you can with other providers like Sky and Virgin Media. However, Vodafone’s range of catch-up and on-demand services do offer plenty of content to watch later if you miss it live (such as BBC iPlayer and All4).

Some – like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ – don’t even broadcast live (except for live sport), they just post the shows and films ready for you to watch whenever you like.

What are the alternatives to Vodafone TV?

To be honest, if TV is particularly important to you, you’ll find comprehensive TV packages with more choices from the likes of Sky, Virgin Media and BT.

That said, Sky and BT are more expensive. But for the extra money you’ll get more channels and on demand services, plus the latest set top boxes with features like recording functionality – something the Apple TV box doesn’t offer.
