The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus was released in January 2021. At launch, it was priced at £949 for 128GB of storage, or £749 for the 256GB version.

It was released alongside two other models: the standard Samsung Galaxy S21 and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Will my Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus be recycled?

Yes – but what happens depends on the condition of your device, as well as the current smartphone market.

If your phone is in good condition, or it’s one of the latest models, it’ll most likely be refurbished and sold on. Older devices and phones in less good condition may be dismantled, and their parts used to refurbish other phones.

Otherwise, if it can’t be refurbished or reused, it’ll be taken apart. Recyclable materials will be melted down and reused elsewhere, while other parts will be disposed of safely.

No matter what happens, you can rest assured that it’ll be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way – and it won’t end up in a landfill.

Can I get paid for a broken Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus?

However, if your phone is beyond repair, recyclers are unlikely to accept it. This includes water-damaged phones, or phones that are significantly damaged (for example, if it’s snapped in two).

Each recycling company will have its own conditions on what counts as broken and what they’ll accept, so be sure to check.

First, you can go directly to Samsung’s website to trade in your old Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus. Tell them about the condition of your device and they’ll give you an instant discount price – you can then use this to bring down the cost of a new Samsung device. If it’s completely broken, however Samsung won’t pay any money for it – though they’re happy to take it off your hands and recycle it for you.
