What is Chase?

Chase is a digital bank that provides current account services in the UK through its mobile app. Its current account is designed to help you manage everyday money, from receiving income and paying bills to making card payments and tracking your spending.

Features, eligibility requirements and account terms can change, so check the latest details before applying.

What to look for in a Chase current account

When considering a Chase current account, you may want to look at:

  • How you can access and manage the account

  • Whether there is a monthly fee

  • Any interest, rewards or cashback available and the conditions that apply

  • Overdraft availability, charges and eligibility

  • How payments, card use and cash withdrawals work

  • Whether the account is suitable for joint banking or additional account holders

Is Chase right for you?

A Chase current account may suit you if its features fit the way you prefer to manage your everyday money.

Before applying, consider whether app-based banking suits you and whether you need services such as branch access, cash or cheque deposits, international payments or an overdraft. Chase does not currently offer these services through its current account, so it may not be the right fit for everyone.

Choosing a current account

Current accounts can offer very different features. Some focus on simple everyday banking, while others may include rewards, linked savings options or tools to help you budget.

As well as comparing potential benefits, make sure you understand any fees, eligibility criteria and restrictions. If you use an overdraft, pay particular attention to the interest rate and charges, as borrowing can be expensive.

What is the Current Account Switch Guarantee?

The Current Account Switch Guarantee protects you when you complete a full switch through the Current Account Switch Service, also known as CASS.

It means your switch should be completed in seven working days, with your balance and regular payments moved to your new account. Payments sent to your old account details should also be redirected.

If something goes wrong with the switch and you’re charged fees or lose interest as a result, your new bank should refund you.

Not every type of account switch is covered, so check that your new provider uses the Current Account Switch Service before you apply.
