The iPhone 13 Pro Max was released in September 2021. At launch, it was priced at £1,049 for 128GB of storage, £1,149 for 256GB, £1,349 for 512GB, and £1,549 for a whopping 1TB of storage.

At the time, it was the biggest and highest-spec iPhone ever seen, boasting the most powerful camera and longest-lasting battery – with an eye-watering price tag to match.

It was discontinued following the launch of the iPhone 14 range, so you can no longer buy it directly from Apple. Nevertheless, you can still sell it to or buy it from recyclers, who may resell it as a refurbished device.

Will my iPhone 13 Pro Max be recycled?

Yes – but what happens depends on the condition of your device, as well as the current smartphone market.

If your phone is in good condition, or it’s a more recent model, it’ll likely be refurbished and sold on. Older devices and phones in less good condition are more likely to be dismantled, their parts used to refurbish other phones.

Otherwise, if it can’t be refurbished or reused, it’ll be taken apart. Recyclable materials will be melted down and reused elsewhere, while other parts will be disposed of safely.

Whether it’s reused or recycled, it’ll be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way.

Can I get paid for a broken iPhone 13 Pro Max?
