If you’ve ever opened an insurance renewal email, felt your stomach tighten and thought, “I’ll sort that later,” you’re not alone.

Comparing bills is one of those chores that always seems to land at the bottom of the to‑do list. Life is busy, the jargon doesn’t help, and there’s always something more interesting to do.

But with household costs still heading in the wrong direction, staying on top of what you’re paying really matters. And now there’s an easier way to do it.

MoneySuperMarket’s new ChatGPT app is designed to take the faff out of saving money.

Instead of sitting down with forms, digging out old policy documents or scrolling through page after page of options, just open ChatGPT and simply ask it questions - as naturally as you’d ask a friend - to get useful answers back in minutes.

If you already have a MoneySuperMarket account, you can even re-run full car insurance quotes using your saved details, without typing everything out again.

You can also use the app to search and compare broadband deals, current and savings accounts to find the best deals and offers.

But even if you are not a customer yet, it only takes five questions to get an instant estimate or just a quick sense-check to help you decide what to do next.

How it works

  • ChatGPT interprets your question - "@MoneySuperMarket Help me find a broadband deal for a house full of gamers"

  • MoneySuperMarket’s APIs securely return the information, quotes or guidance you need

  • Your quote data stays within MoneySuperMarket systems - ChatGPT does not access your account

  • AI helps you make sense of the jargon, explaining options in everyday language

How to use it

You can add the app directly from here, or go to ChatGPT, select Apps, search for Connect and add the MoneySuperMarket app. Once added, you can type prompts such as:

ChatGPT seamlessly pulls the MoneySuperMarket app into your conversation, giving you personalised guidance instantly.

What the app can help you do and why it matters

Get a car insurance estimate with just five questions

If you simply want to know whether your renewal price looks fair, the app can give you an estimate in seconds after answering five short questions.

Re‑run car insurance quotes using your existing details

If you already use MoneySuperMarket, the app can securely retrieve the information you have previously shared to re‑run quotes for cars you already own.

This avoids typing your vehicle details again - and possibly introducing human error - and makes it one of the fastest ways to check if you could get a better deal.

AI reduces the friction by recognising when information is already available and skipping repetitive steps.

Work out the broadband speed your home really needs

Many households overspend on broadband because they guess the speed they need rather than basing it on how they actually use the internet.

The app asks a few simple questions about your household, such as how many people work from home or how often you stream, then recommends the right speed.

It then finds the best value deals at that level.

Get simple answers to confusing money questions

If you have ever wondered whether you need legal cover, if you should declare something on an application or whether your home insurance covers accidental damage, you can ask the app in plain English.

The AI breaks down complex policy wording into human‑friendly explanations, helping you understand the “why” behind the answer so you can make confident, informed decisions.

Simplifying savings

With household budgets under pressure, anything that makes it easier to understand your options, check prices and switch to better deals can make a meaningful difference.

MoneySuperMarket’s ChatGPT app turns complex comparison tasks into quick conversations and presents options in a way that’s easy to understand so you can make confident decisions and considerable savings with less effort than ever before.

Matt Cresswell, Chief Technology and Data Officer at MONY Group, adds:

“Our new ChatGPT app gives customers quick, personalised results through simple conversation. With just five answers, new customers can get a car insurance estimate. Existing customers can re‑run quotes using information they have already shared with MoneySuperMarket, and the app can also help people find broadband deals that match their household needs.”

What about privacy?

Connection is optional and can be turned on or off at any time.

If you choose to connect your MoneySuperMarket account, your data stays securely within MoneySuperMarket’s systems and is protected by the same strict security measures already in place.

ChatGPT does not access your personal account or stored details.

It simply passes your questions to MoneySuperMarket and brings the responses back in a more conversational way.

AI can also help you save on MoneySuperMarket.com

AI Companion is a new smart tool available on MoneySuperMarket.com. It helps you spot ways to pay less by using real pricing trends to highlight when it’s a good time to buy or switch.

It’s designed to slot naturally into your MoneySuperMarket journey, giving you gentle, helpful suggestions to give you clearer guidance, more confidence, and more money left over each month.

MoneySuperMarket has also released a new feature to help you find the cheapest quote for your car insurance.

When you compare car insurance with MoneySuperMarket, our Price Optimiser analyses the details in your quote and highlights factors that could be impacting your premiums, guiding you through the ways you can reduce the cost of your policy.
