Energy Super Switch

Updated: 16 Feb 2026

Last updated: 16th February 2026

By registering for or completing a switch through this MoneySuperMarket Collective Energy Switch (the “Super Switch”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About this Collective Switching Scheme

  • This Collective Switch is operated by MoneySuperMarket Limited, trading as MoneySuperMarket (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are an accredited third party intermediary and is not a supplier of gas or electricity. We do not provide energy supply, billing or account management services.

  • For the purposes of Ofgem’s supply licence conditions, this scheme is intended to meet the definition of a “Collective Switching Scheme” under Standard Licence Condition (SLC) 22B: a scheme whose primary purpose is to seek offers from more than one licensed supplier, with a view to securing at least one tariff that will result in a bulk number of domestic customers transferring.

  • We invite multiple licensed domestic energy suppliers to submit offers so that a competitive, time‑limited Collective Switching Tariff (as defined in SLC 22B) can be made available to participating customers.

2. Nature of the Collective Switching Tariff (SLC 22B)

  • A tariff featured in this event may be treated by the participating supplier as a Collective Switching Tariff under SLC 22B, meaning it is:

  • A tariff for a fixed term supply contract, and

  • Entered into by a domestic customer only as a result of this Collective Switching Scheme.

  • Because SLC 22B allows specific exemptions for Collective Switching Tariffs, a tariff available through this scheme may not be generally available to all customers via other channels, provided it complies with the criteria set out in SLC 22B and any Ofgem directions or derogations in place.

  • The participating supplier remains responsible for ensuring that any tariff it offers through this scheme complies with all relevant licence conditions, including SLC 22B and any associated derogations granted by Ofgem.

3. Scheme Design and Duration (SLC 22B Characteristics)

  • In line with the characteristics of a Collective Switching Scheme under SLC 22B:

  • The scheme has a clearly defined start date and end date, which will be published on our website.

  • Eligible consumers must meet stated participation criteria (for example, being a domestic customer in Great Britain) and complete the required steps via the MoneySuperMarket journey within the scheme period to access the tariff.

  • By the published end date:

  • Customers who meet the participation criteria and wish to switch must have completed their online application to enter into the new domestic supply contract with the participating supplier.

  • After the end date, the Collective Switching Tariff may be withdrawn or closed to new applications, and customers will no longer be able to access it via this scheme.

4. Eligibility and Customer Groups (SLC 22B.2)

  • This promotion is available to MoneySuperMarket customers who are opted into emails before 23rd February 2026 23:59 or any MoneySuperMarket customer who is a SuperSaveClub member before 23rd February 2026 23:59.

  • Participation is open to domestic gas and/or electricity customers in Great Britain, aged 18 or over, subject to any additional eligibility criteria displayed at the point of quote.

  • Under SLC 22B, suppliers may in some cases offer tariffs to specific customer groups defined by objective criteria (for example, payment method, meter type or region), provided these criteria do not relate to whether the customer is new or existing.

  • Where a Collective Switching Tariff is limited to specific customer groups (such as payment method, region, or meter configuration), this will be clearly explained in the tariff information we present to you.

  • Suppliers may conduct credit checks or assess payment‑method risk before accepting a switch. We are not involved in such assessments

5. Relationship to Other Tariffs (Requirement to Make Tariffs Available)

  • SLC 22B requires domestic suppliers, subject to certain exceptions (including Collective Switching Tariffs), to make their tariffs available to both new and existing customers.

  • A tariff offered through this Collective Switching Scheme may be treated as an exception to this general requirement where it meets the definition of a Collective Switching Tariff and any relevant Ofgem directions or derogations apply.

  • Where a participating supplier uses any Ofgem‑granted derogation from SLC 22B (for example, for fixed retention tariffs), that is a matter between the supplier and Ofgem; it does not affect your consumer rights under your contract with the supplier.

6. How to Take Part and Switch

  • You may register or complete a switch via the MoneySuperMarket website during the scheme period.

  • You will be asked for information such as your postcode, current supplier, meter details, and usage, to allow us and the supplier to calculate an indicative quote.

  • If you decide to proceed, you will enter into a fixed term supply contract directly with the participating supplier under the Collective Switching Tariff terms.

  • You remain free not to switch; registration or quote generation does not oblige you to proceed.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate. Incorrect information may result in a revised quote, rejection, or changes to your contract terms.

7. Information, Consent and Cooling‑Off

  • All tariff information (including unit rates, standing charges, contract length, exit fees and key terms) will be presented to you in a clear, fair and not misleading way, consistent with Ofgem’s licence requirements and Standards of Conduct.

  • By submitting your details and confirming a switch, you consent to us sharing the information necessary to process your switch with the participating supplier.

  • You will receive contract confirmation from your new supplier and retain the statutory cooling‑off period (typically 14 days) to cancel the switch without penalty, as set out in your supplier’s terms and applicable law.

8. Data Sharing for Scheme Operation and Rewards

  • Where cashback or other incentive rewards are offered as part of this Collective Switching Scheme, the supplier must provide us with accurate, timely confirmation of successful switches so we can validate and process any reward.

  • Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and used only for:

  • Facilitating your switch under this Collective Switching Scheme.

  • Administering any rewards or incentives linked to this scheme.

  • Providing you with relevant updates about your application and the scheme.

9. Our Role and Supplier Responsibility

  • MoneySuperMarket acts as an intermediary / third‑party intermediary, designing and running the Collective Switching Scheme and presenting participating suppliers’ tariffs to you.

  • The participating supplier is solely responsible for:

  • Compliance with SLC 22B and all other applicable licence conditions.

  • The terms of your energy supply contract, billing, customer service, and handling of any supply complaints.

  • Any issues with your contract or supply should be raised directly with your supplier, who must handle them in line with Ofgem’s rules and complaint‑handling standards.

  • We are not responsible for any difference between quoted savings and actual savings achieved, as consumption patterns, supplier pricing structures and regional factors may vary.

10. Regulatory Compliance and Changes

  • This Collective Switching Scheme is designed to meet the definition and characteristics of a Collective Switching Scheme under SLC 22B, and to operate consistently with Ofgem guidance and any applicable derogations.

  • If Ofgem amends SLC 22B, issues new directions, or changes any relevant derogations that affect this scheme, we or the participating supplier may adjust, suspend, or withdraw the Collective Switching Tariff or scheme as necessary.

  • Any material changes will be communicated on our website and, where relevant, to customers who have already applied to switch.

11. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it cannot be limited or excluded under law.

  • To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • Any act or omission of your energy supplier, including billing, customer service, or supply issues.

  • Any loss or damage arising from your decision to enter into, or not enter into, a contract with a supplier, except where caused by our negligence or breach of statutory duty.

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or economic losses, including loss of savings, loss of opportunity or loss arising from supplier actions, except where required by law.

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the MoneySuperMarket website or switching service

12. Fraud and misuse

  • We reserve the right to void participation, cancel rewards, or withdraw access where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity, misuse of the scheme, or breach of these Terms.”

13. Force Majeure

  • Neither we nor participating suppliers shall be liable for delays or failures caused by events outside reasonable control (including regulatory changes, market outages, or supplier operational constraints).

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
