How can I convert Nectar to Avios points?

Learn how to link your Nectar and Avios accounts and convert points seamlessly.

Did you know you can convert your Nectar points into Avios points? That means you can use points collected from your day-to-day shopping into reward flights, upgrades and more.

We’ll show you how.

The first step is to link your Nectar and Avios accounts. To do so, just log in to either accounts and find the ‘link your account’ option. Then just follow the instructions.

What is the conversion rate from Nectar points to Avios?

You can only convert in increments of 400 points – you can’t convert fewer than that. Every 400 Nectar points convert into 250 Avios. Points are transferred instantly when the conversion is from Nectar to Avios.

Can I convert Avios points to Nectar?

You can. They convert on a 1:1 ratio, so 400 Avios points convert into 400 Nectar. But when converting from Avios into Nectar, the points take longer to reach your account – up to 12 days.

Are there any fees or limits associated with the conversion?

There’s no fee, but there is a limit. You can only convert a maximum of 50,000 Avios and/or 80,000 Nectar points in any calendar month.

Can I set up automatic conversions between Nectar and Avios?

You can. If you set up auto conversion, each week your entire balance will be converted either from Avios to Nectar or vice versa, depending on what you’ve specified. But as ever, you’ll need at least 400 Nectar points or 400 Avios for the transaction to occur.

What you need to qualify

You must hold a valid Nectar account and also be a member of the British Airways Executive Club (BAC) / Avios scheme, and link these accounts. The names on both accounts (Nectar and BAC/Avios) must match fully (first name, surname) for linking and transfers.
