Security of our Site and App

Sections 3 and 4 below are important and you should read them carefully as they exclude or limit our liability to you and detail your responsibilities.

3. Your responsibilities

Your liability to us

a. You agree that you will be liable to us for any damage, loss, claim, demand, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that we may suffer or incur arising out of or in connection with your breach of these Terms and Conditions.

You are responsible for providing us with truthful, accurate and complete information when applying for a Product

a. Our comparison Service allows you to compare quotes for Products from different third-party providers. You will be asked a number of questions, and be required to provide certain information, in order for Product quotations to be generated and compared. These questions are designed to ensure that we and the relevant third-party providers have all the information necessary to provide you with appropriate and timely information relating to the Products in which you are interested. We may also pre-populate certain fields based on information that you have previously provided to us or which is available from publicly available sources. There will be certain aspects of the quotations you are provided with that will be determined by the answers you provide to our questions/ the information which has been pre-populated, such as the level of cover offered (if applicable) and the amount you will pay. Therefore, it is very important that you both answer all of the questions truthfully, completely and accurately and that you disclose all relevant facts, and that you check any pre-populated information both to confirm accuracy and to correct any errors or omissions you find. Failure to do so could invalidate the Product you purchase (for example, if you are applying for an insurance product, this could mean that you have no insurance cover and you will be responsible for any third-party costs if any event occurs where you would otherwise have been covered by the insurance product).

b. Before you submit an application for any Product from a third-party provider, you must check that all of the information the relevant third-party provider holds about you is correct, complete, accurate and not misleading, and that you have disclosed to the third-party provider all relevant facts. It is your responsibility to identify and correct any mistakes or errors in the information that a third-party provider holds about you before you obtain a Product from them. Failure to do so could invalidate the Product.

c. If you are unsure whether any information is relevant or needs to be disclosed, or you suspect that any information you have disclosed may be incorrect, you should contact the relevant third-party provider before you apply for a Product.

You must keep your account details safe

a. If you create, or are provided with, any usernames, passwords or other identification information when using our Site or our App, you must keep them confidential and must not share them with anyone else. If you do disclose to anyone else your username, password and/or any other identification information, you are solely responsible for all activities undertaken on the Site and/or the App using your username, password and/or other identification information.

b. We have the right to disable any username, password or any other identification information, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions.

c. If you know or suspect that anyone other than you know your username, password or other identification information, you must promptly notify us at: datarequest@moneysupermarket.com.

You must get permission before providing someone else’s information

a. If you are required to provide us with someone else’s personal information (for example, if you are applying for a motor insurance policy with a named driver), you must get permission from that person before you provide their personal information to us. By providing another person's details, you are confirming to us that you have their permission to do so and that they understand how their details will be used.
