About your trip

Travelling before or on 16th April 2020

On the 17th March 2020 the FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) have advised against "all but essential" travel to all countries outside of the UK for 30 days.

This means that single trip and backpackers insurance policies will not cover you for any travel within this period. Any annual multi trip policies bought after 17th March 2020 will not cover you for travel that starts before 17th April 2020.

Some Insurers have also temporarily decided to remove themselves from the market. This means we have a reduced number of insurers on our panel and will only be able to show you a limited number of policies.

Travelling after 16th April 2020

The situation is constantly evolving and the current advice against “all but essential” travel is set to 30 days, but this is subject to change.

Help and advice about coronavirus (Covid-19)

On 11th March 2020 the World Health Organisation declared coronavirus a pandemic. This means that insurance policies are likely to have limited or no cover for anything in relation to coronavirus. It is important that you look at the policy documents offered by your provider when you buy insurance to see what is covered in the case of an 'epidemic', 'pandemic' or 'known event'. You should contact your insurer directly if you are then still unsure of the cover.

Each travel insurance policy has its own terms and conditions and at the moment these can change daily, so please check your policy documents before you purchase, or contact your provider directly to see what's covered.

Does any person to be insured have a pre-existing medical condition?
To ensure you have the right cover for your trip it is important you tell us about your medical history. If you do not declare medical conditions this could invalidate your policy. Examples include diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and respiratory conditions (including asthma). You do not need to declare pregnancy as a medical condition.
To help us find the right cover for your trip, it is important you tell us about your medical history. If you don’t declare medical conditions, it could invalidate your policy.

Did you know... if you or a member of your family/group have a pre-existing medical condition, it may be a good idea that everyone travelling is covered under the one policy. This way, if the trip needs to be called-off due to a medical condition, everyone will be covered for the cancellation.

Did you know... one of the main reasons a claim could be declined is for non disclosed medical conditions. It's important you check with all travellers to make sure the cover is right for you.
