Les Roberts: You wake up one morning and look out to find your garden furniture has been stolen. Here are the FIVE things you need to do.

Make a list

Make a note of everything that’s gone missing as well any other damage done during the burglary

Call 101

Call 101 - the police’s non-emergency number, explain the situation and do as they advise. And check your doors and windows to see if there are any signs the burglars tried to get into your  house

Make a claim

Contact your home contents insurance company, tell them you want to make a claim.

Improve your security

You may want to make your garden more secure – fit higher fences, stronger locks and maybe security lights – and think about improving your  home security too, it could be your house they try next.
