As the name suggests, the tariff is fixed until 31 July 2015. You’d be expected to manage your account online and pay by monthly direct debit.
Typical household cost
The typical cost for a household on average usage for this tariff would be £1,075.87 a year.
The ‘fix’ means the rate per unit of energy used will not change, but the price you pay will be determined by the amount of energy you use.
Trimming the value of the £80 vouchers off this average price brings the nominal cost down to £995.
At the moment, the lowest-priced tariff available on MoneySuperMarket’s energy channel is First Utility’s iSave Fixed August 2015, which comes in at £992.45 for average consumption.
The First Utility deal has a £30-per-fuel exit fee if you decide to move to another product within the term.
The Scottish Power tariff has no exit fee, meaning you’re free to move at any time, without penalty.
Love2Shop vouchers can be redeemed at around 20,000 stores of all types across the UK.
