Free case of wine when you take out a Virgin Money credit card

Do you fancy getting your hands on a free case of wine and a competitive credit card at the same time?

Happy people wine

If so, take a look at this offer from Virgin Money and MoneySuperMarket.

The basics

Virgin Money is offering new customers who apply for any one of its credit cards a free six-bottle case of wine (worth £50), providing they apply through MoneySuperMarket, MoneySavingExpert or via Virgin Money (online or by phone).

To qualify, you need to apply for your Virgin Money credit card before August 20 and make balance transfers or purchases of at least £1,000 within the first 60 days of account opening.

You will receive an email within 14 days of your application being accepted and you can then place your wine order.

You can choose from six bottles of red or white wine, or three of each*. Your selected wine will arrive within 14 days.

Our top credit card tip for taking advantage of this great offer is the Virgin Money All Round credit card.

It is currently topping the 0% balance transfer and purchases credit card tables and offers:

•    0% interest for 24 months on purchases.

•    0% interest for 24 months on balance transfers made in the first 60 days (with a 1% balance transfer fee, min £3).

•    AND 0% for 24 months on money transfers (with a 1.9% fee, min £3).

The card has a representative rate of 18.9% APR (variable)**.

Is this for you?

If you’re after a credit card that charges no initial interest on both balance transfers and purchases, the Virgin Money All Round credit card is the most competitive offering on the market.

And if you like wine, this offer is a great incentive to take out a Virgin credit card.

Remember, though, the offer applies to ANY Virgin Money credit card, not just the All Round card, so be sure to take a look at what else is available before deciding which card is for you.

For example, if you need longer than 24 months to clear an existing card debt, the Virgin Money 36 Month Balance Transfer credit card offers 36 months at 0% on balance transfers, with a 2.5% fee (min £3).

It has a representative rate of 18.9% APR (variable)**.

What makes it special?

The Virgin Money All Round credit card offers the market leading 0% term on combined balance transfers and purchases.

The card also offers 24 months at 0% on money transfers (subject to a 1.9% fee), which means you can move available credit straight into your current account and use it to pay off an expensive overdraft or loan, for example.

Plus, free wine worth £50 is not something you get offered every day by your credit card provider.

Watch out for

To receive your wine, there are a few conditions to be aware of:

•    You must apply for your Virgin Money credit card through MoneySuperMarket, MoneySaving Expert or Virgin Money.

•    You must apply for your credit card before Thursday, August 20, 2015.

•    You must make balance transfers or purchases of at least £1,000 within the first 60 days of account opening.

•    You must claim your free wine by December 31, 2015.

•    Only the primary cardholder can claim the free wine (although additional cardholder transactions will count towards the £1,000 requirement).

•    You must provide a valid email address when you apply – otherwise you won’t receive your wine voucher code.

•     Don’t like wine? Hard luck – there is no alternative offer available at this time.

Also bear in mind you cannot transfer a balance from another credit card issued by Virgin Money on to the Virgin Money All Round Credit Card

And you should always pay off your credit card balance in full before the initial 0% term ends, otherwise you’ll start paying interest.

What else is worth a look?

Although the Virgin Money All Round credit card is competitive, if you’re looking to make a large purchase, the Post Office Matched credit card offers a slightly longer interest-free window on purchases, at 25 months, compared to Virgin Money’s 24 months. (You must make a purchase within the first three months to qualify, otherwise you’ll receive 0% on purchases for 16 months.)

The card has a representative rate of 18.9% APR (variable)**.

Alternatively, if you want to carry out a balance transfer but have existing debt on a Virgin Money credit card, take a look at the Barclaycard Platinum credit card with extended balance transfer which offers 36 months at 0%, subject to a fee of 2.39% (a fee of 3.5% applies but is reduced to 2.39% by a refund). T&Cs apply.

The card has a representative rate of 18.9% APR (variable)**.

Credit limits and interest rates will vary based on your individual circumstances.

Please drink responsibly.
