The Bank Holiday weekend is just around the corner, and if you’re looking to bag a bargain, there are plenty of great deals to choose from.

Whether it’s a low-cost barbecue you’re after, or some DIY essentials, there are plenty of cut-price offers available. Here’s our round up of some of the best for this Bank Holiday, and where to find them.

The Bank Holiday is the perfect time to find cheap offers at DIY superstores, and B&Q is no exception. From May 24 until May 26, B&Q is offering its Colorado Relaxer chair for just £10, down from its usual price of £35. A maximum of four chairs are allowed per customer. The store is also offering a Brabantia 60m Rotary Airer for just £40. It doesn’t usually stock this product, but it is currently selling for £78.16 on

Chessington World of Adventures

Fancy a Bank Holiday day out? Take advantage of Chessington’s recently-launched ‘Early Bird’ day ticket scheme and buy tickets from just £24 per person (those under 0.9m tall go free). You must book at least five days in advance to qualify and there is limited availability, so you’ll have to hurry if you want to buy tickets in time for Bank Holiday Monday. All is not lost if you miss out, however, as you can still buy them for the remainder of half-term. If Early Bird tickets have sold out, you can still buy a ticket for £30 and save money compared to buying on the gate.

If al fresco dining is your thing, then Tesco Direct has a range of tempting deals on barbecues and garden furniture for Bank Holiday bargain hunters. From May 22 until June 2, you can get 40% off selected barbecues, including a four-burner gas barbecue with side burner. This usually sells for £200, but you can pick one up for £120 during the offer period. The Oxforde Aluminium and poly rattan garden sofa set, which normally retails at £1,200, is down to £900, a saving of £300.

Sainsbury’s and Tesco aren’t the only supermarkets catering for those planning a Bank Holiday barbecue. All Asda Extra Special Sausages are £2 a pack, down from £2.98, and you can pick up two packs of its Extra Special Burgers for £6. They usually cost £3.75 a pack. Beef is also reduced, so you can buy a 255g Butcher’s Selection British Beef Rump for £4 each or two for £7, or you can opt for Sirloin or Ribeye steaks for the same price. Extra Special Beers are on offer as well. You can buy a 500ml bottle of Gentleman Jack for £1.75, or four for £5.

If you have a ‘Subcard’ and scan it in-store before June 10, you’ll have a one-in-four chance of winning prizes including free drinks and high street vouchers, and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a holiday.
