Elephant was launched in 2000 as the UK’s first, exclusively online car insurance provider, though it’s always had a call centre in place so customers can get in touch over the phone.

Elephant car insurance offers a range of policy upgrades, including key care and hire car cover, and also offers bike insurance, car warranty insurance, multi-car insurance, van insurance, home insurance and travel insurance.

It is a subsidiary of the Admiral Group, which also includes insurance providers Admiral, Diamond Insurance and Bell Insurance.

Information about Elephant

Elephant offers a number of benefits for policyholders, including:

  • 90 days’ European cover on all car insurance policies.
  • For comprehensive policyholders, a courtesy car is provided while your car is being fixed by an approved repairer. Any repairs come with a five-year guarantee.
  • Comprehensive cover also comes with £5,000 personal injury cover, up to £1,250 of in-car entertainment cover, and up to £300 worth of sports equipment cover for theft or damage by fire or accident.
  • Named drivers on your policy can earn Elephant No Claims Bonus for use on Elephant policies.
