Terrible Company

Look at the most recent reviews and you will be able to gauge where this company currently stands!

I took out insurance with them. The box on occupation was ticked incorrectly-it said I was of 'independent means' whereas I am in fact 'employed'. I noticed this error when I received confirmation, but was told that I needed to pay a £10 '*****istration fee' to correct this (myself over the internet!). If I did not do this then my insurance may not have validity.

The alternative was to cancel my insurance but forfeit a £25 '*****istration' charge, despite being within the 14 day 'cooling off' period for internet purchases.

Not wishing to be strong armed I decided to cancel and fight for my £25 back (this is still ongoing). An unreasonable company prepared to lose at least £525 for £10!

Claims

I'm in my forties and have been driving for 25yrs. 7yrs NCB.
1) low speed collision claim took NINE days to authorise repairs; fully comp policy.
2) first repairs took a whole month; car went back a further two times to get right.
3) sent claim info by email as specified by claim handler; no one picked up until i called a month later about it.
4) Received letter stating esure would no longer insure me; two non-fault claims worth under £4000 in total.
5) Called after 7 months for update; 'Both 3rd party insurers ignoring us. You'll have to attend court'..on BOTH claims!
6) Called James on 26/7 at 4pm for No Claims confirmation; '8 years'. And how many years on the NCD proof letter? '8 years'. Received proof - SEVEN years! New insurer wants extra premium. esure? 'Sorry'.

Let down by customer services

I have ended up uninsured due to their terrible customer service response time.
They accepted my application and then the last working day before my policy commenced I was informed that they can't accept "no claims" proof from companies based in Gibraltar and was told to phone them; it didn't help being asked by the customer services person on the phone what/where Gibraltar is. I spent Saturday trying to reach them to no avail (so merely lined their pockets further no doubt due to the phone number provided).
Severely unimpressed, as I am now the one with an uninsured car :-(

Really bad Customer Service

I was waiting on the phone for half an hour to speak to someone to add european travel. You cannot do it on line and it must be done over the telephone. Really bad service never had any idea how long it would take to answer the call. In the end 8 days cover cost over £40. it was free with my last insurer.

Left me uninsured for 10days with no notification!

Disappointed with Esure, they couldn't get my no claims info directly from my previous insurer (which my new insurer has done) which left me having to hassle my previous insurer for a letter which did not turn up. I began to get letters threatening cancellation from Esure so called up and was assured that it wasn't a problem given the situation and to send it in when i could. Today (19th) i received a letter which is dated 14th stating that they cancelled my insurance on the 9th! No phone call, no letter giving notice... just cancelled! My car was left uninsured for 10 days which means i've been breaking the law. Totally unsympathetic customer services and still no refund in my account, for all they know i wouldn't be able to afford new cover without refund!! £40+ for 1week euro cov!!
