The concept of the chill-out album is nothing new: take a bunch of laid-back, atmospheric records, arrange in suitably low-key running order, then sit back and, well, relax. It's all too easy, right? Thankfully our DJs for this particular cool-down session are the much-revered Rollo & Sister Bliss, head honchos of the Faithless empire and seasoned arbiters of taste. Not for them the "obligitory" tunes of the moment (hello Moby), nor useless aural wallpaper, just 16 personal tracks picked from love. It is a curious journey that takes in the gamut of sunset grooves--from the Balearic lullaby of Sub Sub's "Past" to Kruder & Dorfmeister's dubbed-out wizardry on "Bug Powder Dust". Add to this various downbeat curiosities such as Tinderstick's beer-sodden lament, "Another Night In", the Casio blues of "I Love My Man" by Bent, even Mazzy Star, and you end up with a collection that is wilfully eclectic but deliciously debilitating. --Paul Tierney
