Blank discs include recordable and rewritable CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. Discs require more careful handling, but they will last a long time and because CD-RW and DVD-RW media are rewritable, you can erase existing data and store new data in its place, which can be very convenient. Also, blank CDs and blank DVDs are extremely cheap.

Blank CD discs are best for storing data such as songs and movies which can be directly played or played with other devices. Blank CD-RW is best for storing documents and files that may require alterations at a later time. Blank CDs discs are helpful for both official and personal use. Before you buy blank CDs, you should check to see if your CD burner is a CD-R (recordable) or a CD-RW. Keep in mind that blank CD-Rs will work in a CD-RW burner, but CD-RWs won’t work in a CD-R burner. And buy blank CDs with gold-tone on the bottom to record archival material such as family photographs or financial records.
