Still haven’t bought your next generation console? Here are some quick points on why you should buy which console (with an ever-so-slight slant towards the Wii).
Why you should buy an Xbox
These 3 seventh generation consoles are very similar in terms of what they offer. Now with the Microsoft Kinect, the Xbox has bridged the gap of motion sensor interaction to move in on the Nintendo Wii’s territory; though I still believe the new Wii Motion Plus controller keeps the Wii ahead of the completion. Also, all three consoles do offer online gaming but the Xbox Live still leads in this area so if you love playing with mates across the country or even the world the Xbox is the way to go. The Xbox also streams media via Sky Player in the UK (Netflix in the US) but the real draw is the console specific games such as Halo, Gears of War and for you zombie fanatics Left 4 Dead.
Why you should buy a PS3
Of course the big draw (or marketing push) is the Hi-def and Blu-ray and is the only console to offer this which is a great deal for this price. Plus, you will probably spend less on upgrades for the PS3 than the other two consoles. Unlike the Xbox, online gaming is free. Plus the PS3 has their own exclusive titles such as God of War and Gran Turismo as well as having the best RPGs IMHO.
Why you should buy a Wii
The biggest draw for buying a Wii is the price tag. The games are also less expensive than the others. They also have the largest sensor game library and currently the best sensor technology with the right upgrades. The Wii is the most user friendly and the ideal console to buy for the family. Plus, its Nintendo with all the game titles you grew up playing such as Super Mario Bros., Metroid, Legend of Zelda as well as other exclusive titles like Resident Evil and Bioshock. Start your Wii experience with Wii bundles and get your kids (and yourself) active playing sports and fitness games using the Wii balance board.
