Vince Vaughn joins the likes of Owen Wilson, who was previously featured on the spotlight, as one of Hollywood’s funny men. In his latest claim to fame, The Dilemma, he finds out that his best friend’s wife is having an affair. In trying to do the right thing and be the good man that he is, he stumbles across all kinds of trouble and is brought into a mess that is too big for his own good. With Kevin James co-starring, it is certain to be a fun-filled comedic experience.
Prior to The Dilemma, Vaughn lays claim to a long line of stellar comedies. He burst onto the scene back in the 1990s with Swingers and he has come a long way since. The film that brought him to the A-list of comedy did not come until 2003, when he starred in Old School – a portrayal of the life within fraternities at college. Well, not exactly. It is more like a group of middle-aged men who band together to create a fraternity. Will Ferrell and Luke Wilson accompany him in what is one of the funniest movies in the last 10 years. It was not long after this that Vaughn took the reins of other major titles such as Be Cool, Dodgeball and Wedding Crashers. Along the way, he also had cameo appearances in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Anchor Man and Starsky & Hutch.
While my favourite Vaughn films lie in the early 2000s, I do not doubt that he will continue to produce some top-tier comedy films in the future.
