Seth Rogen has cemented his spot as a comedic genius. In the last 5 years he has produced nearly 16 films; mind you that is just over three films a year. Along with an impressive career as a writer, director and producer, he finds a way to star in the majority of these films as well. His most notable appearances come in Knocked Up, Superbad and Pineapple Express. He has created his own film genre, “the stoner film.” It is the ridiculous jokes and somewhat shallow and twisted sense of humour that makes these films such a wild success.
His most recent success story comes in the form of a super hero. In “The Green Hornet” Seth Rogen’s hero does not have any super powers of note, but that is exactly where the fuel for his latest comedy stems from. After the death of his father, he takes over the family business and in turn teams up with his assistant to fight crime. In this hilarious mockery, you can expect nothing less than poor humour that is directed at those who are under the influence. You could call it stupid humour, but then you might be offending Rogen who prefers to call it “stoner humour.”
