If you have yet to see a Russell Brand film, then you must not be British. Aside from having found his niche as a rock-star celebrity, he is also established as a great voice behind a number of recent animations. Underneath the sex addict, party animal rock-star is an extremely talented comedian with a diverse range of material. He plays his own part so well in flicks like Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall only to turn around and have everybody wondering who the voice of Dr. Nefario was in Despicable Me.
If you have yet to see him play the part of a world renowned rock star in Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, they are utterly hilarious films driven by a rather stupid plot, which only makes his part all the more genius. Throughout a series of unforeseeable events comes a line of crude sexual jokes and plenty of idiotic dialogue. While the two films might not change your outlook on life, they will have you rolling out of your chair even if it is the tenth time that you have seen them.
He is scheduled to be featured in multiple productions, including an animation, which is set to be his next release. From the creators of Despicable Me comes what should be an equally impressive comedic animation. Hop features brand as the voice of the Easter Bunny and starts out with him being hit by a car. In turn, the offending driver must do what it takes to save Easter. His other major project is Arthur, yet another comedy that is perfect for Brand. In this tale, a young playboy jeopardizes his family inheritance by falling for a woman who does not quite fit the bill.
Brand is also expected to star alongside Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway in a 2012 production called Rock of Ages. More info on that film as it is released.
