Recordable Storybooks are one of this year’s hottest items–and just in time for Christmas. These books have suddenly become near ‘Tickle-Me-Elmo’ status with the launch of Christmas books by Hallmark, and now these memorable gifts are popping up everywhere.
The concept is simple, record your voice on every page and instantly become the narrator of your favorite book.
Read a book to your granddaughter from the other side of the world. Narrate to your children when you can’t be home for Christmas. Or even hear the voice of a loved one read your favorite Christmas story each year, a tradition that can now last even past a lifetime. It’s reasons like these that have quickly made Recordable Storybooks big sellers.
It also makes me excited for what this might lead to. Remember those voice skins with celebrity voices for GPS devices? How would you like to have celebrities read your storybooks to you? Arnold Schwarzenegger reading a Disney classic like Bednobs and Broomsticks? Song and dance? Yes please.
That guy could read a receipt and I’d buy it. Definitely the future of recordable book gadgets will be something to write about. And when they do, I’ll be back.
