Whatever happened to waking up on Saturday morning and watching cartoons and playing lego games? I really miss the days of my youth, where I was free to do as I pleased and had the time of day to sit around in my all-in-one pyjamas and waste the day away. I am talking about those pyjamas that covered you from head-to-toe. Some of these marvelous masterpieces actually had hoods as well. I remember, my brother, sister and I had a small collection of these that you could never tear us from. It is a shame that I outgrew it, because if I had not, I would still be wearing it to this day. All-in-one pyjamas are the ultimate lounge attire and I have a hard time understanding why it is not more widely accepted in the adult world.
I suppose the same reasoning that I use for trying to bring back the all-in-one pyjama would also apply to lego games. I remember spending hours playing legos with my brother when I was a kid. I feel that if I was able to spend my lunch hour playing legos, it would greatly boost my morale and make me more productive around the workplace. Just consider the amount of joy that a man can get out of building a lego star destroyer from scratch. It is comparable to the feeling that a man gets when he has fixed something around the house or somehow managed to remember his wedding anniversary.
All I am trying to say is that some childhood pastimes should never be taken from us. Things like naptime, all-in-on pyjams, legos and Saturday morning cartoons are among them. What will I have to surrender for old age next?
