Nokia n95 8GB
The Nokia n95 8GB is the updated version of the original n95. As the name suggests, it features 8GB of onboard memory. It comes stock with Nokia’s sat nav system, which alone almost makes this device worth the price of admission. Also features the standard 3G and WIFI one would expect from a smart phone.
Additionally, the updated 8GB version packs a larger screen than its predecessor, which greatly improves its functionality as a media player, especially for video. A minor change that really goes a long way is making the newest n95 available in black. This really adds to the flair of the device, albeit only in the aesthetics department.
Nokia N96
The upgrade to the preceding n95 line, the Nokia n96 packs some powerful features. Although it is slightly bigger than the n95, when you factor in the amount of utility the device houses, it no longer seems like that much of a behemoth. The screen is noticeably bigger, and the onboard memory is expanded from 8GB to 16GB, allowing it to directly compete with the iPhone. This quite a big difference, especially if you are planning on loading the device up with media. 16GB of memory is good for roughly 3500 songs.
Of course the n96 also comes stock with the great features that were standard in the n95, including Nokia Radio Player, 3G and WIFI, and the GPS functions. Improving its status as a media device, the n96 also features album art, and you can bet this is to combat Apple.
A big point of difference is obviously the added memory of the n96. Not only does it feature an added 8GB of onboard memory, but it also features a microSD card slot, as opposed to the n95’s 4GB memory slot.
The Verdict:
If you want a good Nokia phone for web browsing, some multimedia functionality, and an incredibly sat nav system, the N95 should be a fine option at less of a cost
If you plan on using the device as your all in one media device, the added memory and enhanced screen of the n96 will probably give you the best option to what you are looking for.
