How to save money on a day out this summer

Liz Walsh from Topdogdays has put together a few top tips to enjoy a day out this summer on a budget.

1. Flexibility

Not surprisingly, many visitor attractions run some of their best deals during off peak times.  Those with flexibility, can pick up some great offers such as Drayton Manor’s Manic Monday & Funday Friday Deal that offers entrance for just £10 per person during off peak Mondays & Fridays

2. Family Friendly Tickets

Check out family friendly tickets that recognise that not all families consist of 2 adults & 2 children such as Ironbridge Gorge Museums Family Annual Passport that includes an unlimited number of children within each family unit. Another example is the adult English Heritage membership that offers free entry for up to 6 accompanying children, (under 19).

3. Go Late

With summer approaching, visitor attractions can often extend their opening hours & often run deals to entice later visitors.  Not only may this help you beat the queues but may save some serious money too.

4. Early Birds

Cinemas in particular like to attract customers to visit during the morning by running family friendly movies at discounted prices.  Check out your local cinema to see what they are offering this summer.

5. Rainy Day Guarantees

With an uncertain summer approaching, rainy day guarantees are becoming more popular with some of the larger visitor attractions such as Chessington World of Adventures.  These deals tend to offer a free return trip if it rains continuously for an hour or more during your visit.  Always remember to check out the full terms & conditions of each offer before you set out.
