Halloween Parties and Pumpkin Carving

I used to love trick or treating when I was little, but it’s become something of a taboo in my area. You don’t even get the “No trick or treaters” signs in peoples windows any more, a sure sign that kids either aren’t interested or are made to stay at home! What remains popular though are Halloween Parties, and I am one of those people who loves any excuse to dress up in a daft scary costume and have a few drinks.

What I also love are Pumpkins, I think they’re awesome. In America they’re turned into works of art, and these scarily good creations and cropping up in Britain more and more. Instead of the standard Jack-o-lantern they take on all kinds of weird and wonderful designs, and it’s a real talking point when you turn up to a Halloween party carrying one.

This year we’re running a pumpkin carving competition in the moneysupermarket.com office which I want to win, wish my luck! If it’s something you want to try I recommend the Extreme Pumpkin carving book. There are also plenty of templates available online if you want to try something more basic.

If you want to show off your pumpkin centrepiece and you’re own halloween party this year then take a look at our dedicated halloween vouchers page. Our vouchers team has been hard at work sourcing discounts on everything from halloween decorations to halloween costumes and food. Check it out: Halloween Vouchers.
