Having been raised in a household filled with women, I am fully aware of the need to beautify prior to leaving the house. While I can take five minutes to get in and out of the shower, my sister and cousins tend to spend quite a bit more time in the bathroom each morning. My sink is equipped with a toothbrush, a bar of soap, and a razor while theirs is cluttered with twelve different lotions, six combs, five brushes and a whole number of gadgets that I could not tell you the name of. I understand, they have hair on their heads and I do not, they have legs to shave and I do not, they have eye lashes to crimp (whatever that means) and I do not. In growing up in this environment, I have quickly learned that a woman needs a wide variety of accessories. Every morning, I wake up to the smell of a hair straightener and the sound of a hair dryer blowing. If you are anything like my sister and cousin, I am sure that you are constantly looking to add to your collection of beauty accessories.
While I think that a towel will dry your hair just fine, I am a man with a buzz cut and have never had the dreadful experience of bed head or having to lather my head in a palm sized portion of shampoo. The ladies that I live with, on the other hand, swear by their hair dryers. For instance, my sister has a particular hair dryer with three different power settings, a cool shot option and three attachments whose purposes remain unknown to me. While hair dryers are nothing more than an alarm clock to me, the girls in my household swear by them.
While it is not a daily event, my sister seems to love her hair straightener as much as she loves me, if not more. I am only joking, but in jest there is truth and my sister and cousin are very fond of their GHD hair straighteners. Over the years, they have gone through a variety of hair straighteners and have finally settled on the GHD brand. While they are a bit pricey, I have yet to hear any complaints. Rather than spending £20.00 – £30.00 every couple of months on a cheap straightener, spend the extra cash to get a durable product that will last and keep you from frying your hair.
Now, since we have spent so much time on bathroom appliances for the ladies, let us turn to something that we can all appreciate – an electric toothbrush.
