Dance Music Revival

You’ll hear many ardent music fans complaining that their music isn’t what it used to be. Just because the scope of the music industry has changed, however, doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of new and recent releases to get excited about. With dance music crossing over in popularity with mainstream audiences around the globe, here is a look at two great albums slated for release:

Daft Punk OST: Tron Legacy

It seems that portable CD players were still relevant the last time Daft Punk dropped a full length album. But even without a full length release in over 5 years, these robot clad dance icons retained their relevance. So it’s no small wonder that the release of Daft Punk – OST: Tron Legacy is garnering quite a bit of buzz. However, fans of the duo’s earlier work should not be expecting an album full of disco anthems. Employing a 85 piece orchestra, Daft Punk manage to fuse organic instruments with their synths with little fuss, creating a marvelous musical odyssey to go along with remake of the 1982 classic “Tron”. Stand out tracks: “Derezzed” & “The Game Has Changed”

Deadmau5 – 4×4=12
A relative new comer on the dance music scene, Deadmau5 has taken the world by storm. Known equally for his powerful live sets and for performing in an over sized mouse head mouse, this Canadian DJ/Producer’s album is one of the most anticipated of the year. Deadmau5 – 4×4=12 is further proof that his formula for minimal electro house production is nearly flawless. Except this time he’s added to his tried methods and added a bigger focus on vocals to his 3rd full length album.  Stand out tracks: “Ctuhlu Sleeps”, “Sofi Needs A Ladder”, & “Raise Your Weapon”
