With the emergence of blu ray cinema, a number of classics are being reproduced and they are better than ever. Blu ray is revolutionizing the quality of picture in homes all around the world and now you can enjoy classics like Beauty and the Beast and Wallace and Gromit like never before. My generation was brought up to these classic films and even today we can appreciate revisiting them to rekindle what were thought to be lost childhood memories. Tragic tales with endless amounts of inspiration like Lion King and Bambi come to mind when I look back at the days of my childhood. Not only are these back for our enjoyment, but also for the younger generation as well. Three must have titles for this year include:
1. Wallace & Gromit – World of Inventions. This is one of the all time classics that have been enjoyed all around the world. Whether you enjoy the old story of The Wrong Trousers or their new tale, you will definitely have a laugh with your good friends from childhood. The animated clay tandem is back and in a better picture; I have not been this excited about a new addition to a series in a long time, but how can you deny yourself the satisfaction of watching classic animations in blu ray?
2. Beauty and the Beast. This classic romance was a favourite in my household. With my sister and cousin being mesmerized by Belle and my brothers and my fascination with the Beast and Gaston, everybody could enjoy this film. Walt Disney now brings it out on DVD and blu ray to give us much better sound and picture quality than ever before. I for one am particularly excited to see the Beast in action again and hearing Gaston sing one of my favourite Disney songs of all time.
3. Toy Story 3. Last but not least, this classic Pixar series manages to impress yet again. While I am not always a fan of sequels to my childhood favourites, this was one that I could appreciate. With Woody back on the scene and Buzz showing you a new and unique side, the old characters are back and in full form. Along with the old timers are a plethora of interesting new characters that help drive the plot and make for a fun filled and action packed adventure.
