Canon Cameras for Casual Photographers

Canon is one of the leading camera producers on the market. Whether you are looking for a DSLR, film camera or a compact point-and-shoot, Canon will deliver with something just for you. Today, let us look at three of their top point-and-shoot cameras that are great in price, picture quality and versatility. With each model, we will get more and more intricate, giving you a variety of cameras to choose from for all different types of shooting.

1.       Canon Powershot A470. The Powershot series has quickly become one of the most popular amongst Canon’s consumer base. The A470 in particular is one of the cheapest point-and-shoots on the market, making it great for any beginner. Not only is it a great beginner’s camera, but it also fares well as a backup or for situations where you might be hesitant to bring out your more expensive cameras. Do not be misled by the 7.1 MP, unless you plan on blowing up your images to epic proportions, you will not even notice the difference.

2.       Canon Ixus 130. The Ixus 130 steps it up a bit in terms of MP, with 14.1. If you plan on sending off large prints to your friends and family, this is a great camera just for that. Your Christmas card or family portraits will look great in any size and you will not have to worry about distorting the image. The compact design is also ideal for a night out on the town as it fits nicely into your pocket or small purse.

3.       Canon Powershot G10. Back to the powershot series, this time on the higher end of the spectrum. The G10 is far and away the bulkiest camera on this list, but it also proves to be the most functional. With 14.7 MP it even outdoes the Ixus 130 and the majority of larger point-and-shoots in terms of image quality. While the difference is minimal, it also comes equipped with a slightly larger LCD screen for instant viewing (3” as opposed to 2.7”).

About Ranjit

I grew up playing America Football, Football and Track & Field. American Football and Track have always been my greatest passions and I always aspired to play at the collegiate level. Due to a high grade sarcoma in my right leg, I recently decided to amputate my leg and get back to the active lifestyle that I used to live. After making this choice, I have not looked back as it has opened doors to a number of new opportunities and even some of my old passions.
