The Wii’s motion sensor technology has proven that the world is ready for a new level of interface and gameplay. It’s only logical that Microsoft and Sony would develop products to compete with the Wii’s innovative technology.
The Playstation Move is Sony’s entry into the motion sensor market and the Playstation Move starter pack is sometimes bundled with a sports or party game similar to the Wii bundles. Though I’ve been more interested in the Playstation’s RPG’s and the Batman games (Arkham!), I have to admit that the Move seems to have a lot less lag than the Kinect and is slightly more accurate than the Wii MotionPlus. It’s still a very ugly accessory and no amount of flashy colours can distract me from the fact that the controller looks a little bit dirty.
The design of the Move aside, the library is vary sparse and pales in comparison to the Wii’s gigantic array of game options. Besides the essential Sports Champions which offers archery, Frisbee golf and beach volleyball and the Start the Party game, there are a few must haves to get with your Move.
Personally, I would buy Time Crises purely for arcade nostalgia value. The interaction of the Move motion sensor takes this shooter to a whole new level. Also Sorcery is a great game Harry Potter rip which lets you drink potions and flick fire blasts with the Move wand.
Out of all these games, don’t miss out on Little Big Planet 2. Join Sackboy again in these 2.5D platform puzzle sequel as he battles the Negativitron and keeps it from destroying craftworld.
