8 Megapixel Camera Phones

With smart phone’s getting all the buzz, people forget that there are alternatives out there. For some, having a proper camera in their phone is important. If some of the advanced phone features are of less importance to you, there are some great camera phones on the market. Here is a look at three of the best, all of which boast an 8 megapixel camera.

Sony Ericsson C905
With quite a few competitors in the 8 megapixel camera phone market, the C905 is a quite solid model. Besides featuring a high quality Sony digital camera, it also features 3G, WIFI capabilities, GPS technology, and one of the best sat nav systems available on a mobile device.  The design is slightly bulky, but this is the cost of having a great camera on board. The C905 also performs well as a digital music player, but the stock ear phones are rather subpar.

Samsung Pixon M8800
Samsung has billed this model as the world’s slimmest touch screen 8 megapixel camera. The Pixon isn’t a smart phone, but it still offers great features, including 3G capabilities and GPS. It also features media functions, such as music, video, and full web browsing, though WIFI is notably absent.  As the name implies, the Pixon is designed to deliver great image capturing technology. It boasts some cool features, such as Smile Shot (it won’t shoot a picture unless you are smiling, so say “cheese”) and Blink detection (it won’t shoot if you are blinking). Video capture is also improved from its predecessor, the Tocco. The screen isn’t huge by today’s standards, but it performs adequately.

LG Renoir KC 910
A top class 8 megapixel camera paired with very good phone features makes the Lenoir hard to pass up. The music player is supported by Dolby Mobile audio processing. It features the biggest screen of the 3 phones, and its overall design is smaller than the iPhone. The Renoir, also not a smart phone, comes stock with some handy widgets, including weather, and calendar functions. One drawback is that you cannot download more widgets, removing the element of customization. Overall a very functional phone with a quality camera and a great user interface.
