3 Comedians to Warm You Through the Winter

Laughing boosts the immune system, improves your outlook on life and feels wonderful. Who doesn’t love laughing? If you’re looking for some laughs to warm you through the cold winter months, check out the works of these 3 hilarious UK comedians.

Billy Connolly

The 67 year old Scottish comedian and actor has a long list of works, though he is best known for his stand-up comedy. His observational stand-up is often riddled with crass and vulgar off the cuff perspectives on blasphemy, body functions, death and old age, and is sure to delight the saltiest among you. His most recent work involves a reprise of his role as Il Duce in the second Boondock Saints film as well as a role in the upcoming Jack Black film Gulliver’s Travels.

Tim Minchin

If you like a little music with your comedy, you want to start watching some Tim Minchin, as long as you don’t mind a little taboo and anti-religion. His eccentric performance allows him, as the should the role of jester, to tackle hard topics without being too offensive. His 3rd solo act Are You Ready For This has a UK only release that you’re sure to enjoy.

Ross Noble

Ross’ Noble’s Surrealistic comedy has made him the 11th best greatest stand-up according to Channel 4’s 2010 list and his latest album, Nonsensory Overload is an explosion of twisted randomness. His stand-up is pure natural fun as he is a master of ad-libbing and spontaneous connections. He’s sure to be the guy you quote constantly with your mates.

About Jeffrey H.

Hi my name is Jeff Hughes. I grew up watching British TV (probably a little too young to have been watching Black Adder) and particularly enjoy watching Hugh Laurie on the screen. I studied British and American Literature at University but I wish I had been reading comic books the whole time. I enjoy pubs because I believe you can’t drink on an empty stomach. I also like cats.
