Santander’s range of financial products includes investments, loans, insurance, mortgages, and its 123 current account and credit card.

Under the bank’s savings banner, it offers a range of options including index-linked and fixed rate savings bonds, easy access savings accounts and tax-free ISAs, which can offer competitive rates both online and offline.  However, before picking any account, it’s important to compare any Santander deals with the wider savings market.

Santander Savings Guide

Santander, which only relatively recently become a high street name in the UK, is now one of the biggest savings providers.

Abbey National plc became part of the Santander Group in 2004 and in 2008, Alliance & Leicester and the Bradford & Bingley savings business and branches also became part of the Santander Group’s operations in the UK.

Santander offers a wide range of savings products, ranging from tax-free cash ISAs, to online savings accounts and fixed rate savings accounts, many of which offer competitive rates of interest.

Santander also provides savings accounts for children, as well as ‘Reward Savings’ accounts which offer higher rates to those customers also opening a bank account, so there are plenty of different options to choose from.

The first £85,000 of any savings held with Santander is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
