Virgin Mobile was established in 1999 as a mobile virtual network operator and Virgin Mobile currently uses EE’s infrastructure to connect its customers. EE is the UK’s biggest network, comprising of Orange and T-Mobile, and this gives Virgin Mobile customers excellent connectivity over the UK, with 99% population coverage.
Virgin Mobile offers pay monthly contracts, SIM only deals and mobile broadband deals, and it is currently working with EE to bring 4G internet connectivity to its customers, at an affordable price, soon.
Freestyle Contracts from Virgin Mobile splits the traditional mobile phone contract in two, giving one price for the tariff and one for the phone, which is paid off over 24 months. Virgin Mobile customers can then pay off the outstanding balance of the phone to upgrade early, or after 24 months pay only for the tariff part of the bill.
The My Account app can be downloaded to see how much of the allowances have been used, including hard to judge data. With no penalty, customers may also change their tariff up or down each month to suit their usage needs.
